Clinics in Stafford and Stone

About Sally

My name is Sally Talbot, and I’m a fully qualified traditional acupuncturist, who runs clinics in both Stafford and Stone.
It was during my own journey to becoming a mother that I first experienced the benefits of acupuncture. The support it offered me at that time sparked a deep interest, and ultimately inspired me to change careers. So, I retrained with the aim of helping and supporting others with this wonderful practice.

I graduated with distinction from The Acupuncture Academy after completing their three year Professional Licentiate in Acupuncture – a degree-level qualification accredited by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board. I was also highly commended for my clinical work.

My training was in-depth and rooted in classical Chinese medicine, with a particular focus on the Five Element approach. This means I consider not just your main health concern, but also your overall wellbeing – treating you as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms.

I’m a registered member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and follow their Codes of Safe Practice and Professional Conduct. BAcC members are also regulated by the Professional Standards Authority, a government body that ensures high standards of care and accountability in health and social care.

My clinic is licensed by Stafford Borough Council, and I hold full medical malpractice and public/products liability insurance. I am also committed to professional growth and undertake regular continued professional development to ensure I can offer my patients the best care.

I focus on blending the wisdom of ancient acupuncture practices with modern techniques to offer each patient a personalised treatment. Every session is designed to meet the unique needs of my clients, supporting them on their individual path to improved wellbeing.

What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a traditional form of medicine that has been practised in China and East Asia for thousands of years. Over time, it has developed into a system of care that many people in the UK now choose to support their overall health and wellbeing.

Modern research continues to explore how the body may respond to acupuncture. Studies have looked at its potential effects on areas such as pain perception, stress, and overall wellbeing. For example, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) includes acupuncture as an option for some types of chronic pain and tension-type headaches.¹ The British Acupuncture Council also highlights ongoing research into how acupuncture may influence the nervous system and hormone regulation.²

The British Acupuncture Council website includes helpful, easy-to-read factsheets on a range of topics. You can explore them by clicking here.

Additionally, many people choose acupuncture when they feel out of balance or want to take a more holistic approach to their health. Some continue with regular treatments because they find them very relaxing and beneficial.

Traditional acupuncture focuses on treating the whole person. Fine needles are inserted into specific points on the body, based on individual needs. These points are thought to influence the flow of ‘qi’ (vital energy) although modern research is also investigating the physiological effects of needling.

Acupuncture sessions may also include traditional techniques such as moxibustion (moxa), cupping, or gua sha. These are used where appropriate to support the overall treatment process.

Treatments
Tailored Care
Discover treatments at Sally Talbot Acupuncture that aim to support your body’s natural balance and wellbeing. Each session is tailored to your individual needs, offering a personalised and holistic approach. Many of these treatments will be integrated within an acupuncture treatment session where appropriate, however I do offer cupping treatments separately.

Gua Sha Therapy
Scraping Therapy
Gua Sha is a traditional therapy that involves gently scraping the skin with a smooth-edged tool. It is used to support circulation and relieve areas of tension.

Moxibustion
Heat Therapy
Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves gently warming specific points on the body using a herb called mugwort. It is traditionally used to support the body’s natural balance and promote a sense of wellbeing.
Five Element Acupuncture
Balancing Energy
Five Element Acupuncture is based on the ancient Chinese understanding of the five elements - Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. It aims to balance the flow of energy within the body, addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects for overall wellness.

Cupping Therapy
Suction Healing
Cupping is a traditional therapy that involves placing cups on the skin to create gentle suction. It is traditionally used to support circulation, ease areas of tension, and encourage relaxation.

Treatments are priced as follows:

-
Initial Consultation and Treatment £65 (90 -120 mins)
-
Follow up treatments £50 (45 - 60 mins)
-
Cupping (not as part of an acupuncture treatment) £25 (30 mins)

Where 5 treatments are booked and paid together, a discount will offered.
